Journey to the Core

It's a transformative program led by Mind Medicine Ministry and Minister Michael Bingham, designed to help individuals more deeply understand themselves, shed old layers, and align with clear purpose through a process of spiritual and personal growth. This process is centered around facilitating self intimacy and building sustainable mental resilience through practical knowledge. The process is designed to culminate with participation in our sacred musical Ceremony titled “Journey to the Core”, which involves a carefully Curated program of live music performed by the Minister as the traveler partakes in the Sacramental use of Psilocybin mushrooms. The live music performed by the Minister is done in harmony with a recorded backing track includes sung pieces, instrumental works, and spoken word poetry. It is a performance art experience designed to help power wash a Travelers soul with the holy fire of Spiritual music.

When entering into Ceremonial Psychedelic spaces it's important to understand what the role is of the person leading the Ceremony. These generally fall into 3 categories, Sitters, Guides, and Curators.

A Sitter's job is simple, they are there to be an invisible presence, not directly interacting with the traveler, but simply watching from a far and checking in periodically to make sure the traveler is physically safe until their mind fully returns to the shared reality. This type of experience is ideal for travelers who have little to no anxiety about the prospect of traveling and are looking to use the space to explore and engage with the beauty of life.

A Guide is there to directly interact with the traveler and share space with them as they Journey, making sure they have what they need and feel emotionally supported. They are there to provide physical comfort and get the traveler wherever it is they might need. Their job is to hold the energy of loving presence and assist travelers in moving through whatever comes up for them. Guides generally interact minimally with travelers, offering simple reminders like “allow”, “let go”, “release”, “You are safe”, and asking simple questions like “would you like help getting to the bathroom?”. This type of experience is ideal for travelers who have some anxiety about the possible experience and are looking to do inner healing work.

A Journey Curator is there to directly influence the experience a traveler has moment to moment as they Journey. They are responsible for everything to do with the setting of the experience, from the music to the ambiance and more. They are there to actively influence the mind of the traveler while they are utilizing the power of the medicine. This is a deeply personal and highly sacred role to perform. There is immense power and vulnerability for the traveler in giving over that kind of access to their mind. As such it is absolutely necessary that anyone who is Curating a Journey for a traveler have very strict protocols for what they will and will not be doing during their Ceremony. The flow of the Ceremony must be discussed in detail beforehand and clear boundaries and intentions must be set and discussed to ensure safety and integrity for all participants. This type of experience is ideal for travelers who have moderate to high anxiety about the possible experience and know that they have deep healing to do. This is not for the casual seeker and should not be undertaken without extensive preparation.

Our Journey to the Core Ceremony is a Curated Experience, it is our intention to use the power of music and live performance to assist travelers in power washing their soul and deeply resetting their mind.

Anyone seeking personal and spiritual growth, healing, or a deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the universe is welcome to engage with our ministry. Participants should be open-minded, ready for introspection and prepared to dig deep. Those seeking to participate in our mushroom sacrement must be a member of The Divine Assembly (TDA). Joining TDA is a simple and straightforward process.

Those seeking a casual experience or surface level work should look elsewhere. Also, those who are unwilling to be honest and open should look elsewhere. When it specifically comes to the consumption of our Holy Sacrament, individuals with significant heart disease or seizure issues will likely be unable to participate. Likewise, those who have a history of bipolar mania, schizophrenia, psychosis, or those on specific psychoactive medications will likely be unable to participate in our Sacrament Ceremony. Journey to The Core is generally performed in peoples homes. We want to be in a space that is calm, familiar and comfortable. However, because of the nature of the ceremony it is imperative that we are in a space where we will not be disturbed and where we will not disturb anyone else. The music we use can get quite loud and as such an apartment building is generally not a great container for Journey to the Core. Some individuals elect to rent an Airbnb type space for their Journey if their living space is not suitable. We also have connections to a local place up emigration canyon that is lovely for this kind of experience.

The Journey to the Core Sacrament Ceremony is typically done 1 on 1, or 1 on 2. We are happy to perform special musical programs for groups upon request, but in these cases we require that we are not the person responsible for facilitating and/or guiding the experience of the group. If you are guiding a group and wish to have a special musical program for that group, please email us directly with the details.

The 1 on 1 case is fairly straightforward. Because the nature of this Ceremony is so deeply personal, some Travelers prefer to Journey alone to preserve their mental and emotional privacy. In many ways this ceremony is a deep confessional, what is on your heart and in your core is going to come out into the open. We view it as our sacred duty to honor and preserve the privacy and sanctity of this kind of interaction.

In the 1 on 2 case the Ceremony is done with a single Traveler and their optional sober companion. If you choose to have a sober companion, it should be someone who you have no hesitation telling your deepest secrets to. Additionally, if you choose to have a sober companion, it is required that that companion not speak for the duration of the ritual (6 hours). They are simply there to provide additional loving presence to the space and some physical / emotional support. However it is critical that they honor the ritual and the openness of the travelers mind by not communicating via language in any way. Language is the domain of the mind, and during this ceremony we are there to connect to and feed the soul, not empower the mind. If your sober companion does not feel capable of staying silent for that duration of time, you should pick a different sober companion or travel alone.

The total duration can vary depending on individual needs and the pacing of each step. This is because the program is designed to be comprehensive and immersive, focusing on deep, meaningful change.

Getting properly prepared to do Journey to the Core is highly individualized. Some people are ready with just our basic intake and prep process (2-4 hours), while others opt to do our full educational curriculum and mental fitness program to prepare themselves with all appropriate tools they could need to fully utilize the space opened by our Ceremony.

The “Journey to the Core” sacrament ceremony itself is a 6 hour musically guided experience that requires at least one full day of time from the traveler.

Our Integration process is also very fluid with some individually wanting just basic integration (2-4 hours) and others wanting more time. These highly customizable pathways are something that is discussed in detail and mapped out during the intake process.

Sacramental Rituals are compensated on a tithing basis, the sacrifice must be the same for all who seek it. To determine your tithing rate, take your annual income and divide it by 365. This gives you “1 Days” worth of work.

Our Journey to the Core Ceremony requires a tithing of 7 days of work.

Safety is our top priority. All aspects of the journey, especially those involving psychedelics, are conducted in a highly curated, supportive environment with guidance from an experienced professional. The sacrament we partake of is, in most cases, an incredibly safe substance to consume. It is effectively impossible to overdose and the addictive potential is essentially a non-issue . This isn't something you want to do every day…

Psilocybin's overall health risk profile is significantly lower across essentially all metrics when compared to many commonly used substances like Alcohol, Cannabis, and many prescription drugs. In depth discussions about medical history and associated risks will happen during intake, and it is also required that individuals consult with the health care professionals relevant to their specific case before embarking on our Sacrament Ceremony. While it is true that our sacrament is currently illegal at the state and federal level for recreational use, the religious use of specific psychedelic substances in a ceremonial context is a legally protected right under the First Amendment of the Constitution. This right has been clarified by the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 and reaffirmed by the Supreme Court. The use of our sacrament is a religious practice that we undertake exclusively in a ceremonial context. As such it is required that all individuals who wish to partake of sacrament with Mind Medicine Ministry are members of our affiliated religious organization The Divine Assembly (TDA). No prior experience with psychedelics is required. The program includes education and preparation to ensure all participants feel comfortable and informed before embarking on this aspect of the Journey process.

Everyone's path is unique to them. If a Psilocybin Journey is not calling to you, we still welcome you to take our classes and work with us in our personal consulting practice.

Preparation involves introspection, setting intentions, and participating in the Context and Fitness phase to ensure mental, emotional, and physical readiness. There are some Pre-Journey dietary recommendations as well for the 72 hours before you travel. More specific guidance is provided during the Intake and Education step.

Outcomes vary based on individual intentions, prior experience, and depth of engagement with the program. We make no guarantee of specific outcomes. However, participants can expect to develop a deeper sense of self, strengthen their mind, have the potential to release past traumas, find greater inner peace, and align more closely with their life's purpose. This program is designed for those at a crossroads, looking to make deep change and start a new chapter of life. It is for those who are looking to work through something meaningful and set themselves up for sustainable success moving forward.

After participation in our Journey to the Core Ceremony, Integration is a key. Two integration sessions are a standard part of any Ceremony we perform. These sessions are there to help provide guidance on how to best apply insights gained from your travels and apply those to support meaningful changes to your daily life. Additional integration sessions and ongoing personal consulting are available upon request.
